Amsterdam 29-12-1905 – The Hague 05-04-1941
Arie Zonneveld was a Dutch graphic artist and painter. Arie Zonneveld wanted to become a drawing teacher and after the HBS he decided to study at the evening course at the Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague. Arie was in conflict between the teacher or the artistic freedom. He would opt for artistic self-motivation. He did not complete the training at the Academy of Fine Arts. He felt that it did not sufficiently stimulate and inspire his imagination and his mind. From that moment Arie became a free artist and painter. He made many woodcuts, painted and made etchings and watercolors. His woodcuts are collected fanatically.
